2.FEDJE Ferjekaibibliotek
Det lille biblioteket i venterommet på ferjekaia er ikkje heilt som andre bibliotek. Biblioteket gjer god litteratur tilgjengeleg for alle og ein kvar. Opningstidene er romslege og plasseringa sentral.
Treng du ei bok til ferjeturen eller til ei avslappande helg på Fedje, er dette staden å starte.
På ferjekaibiblioteket kan du både ta deg ei bok, leggje igjen ei bok. Du treng ikkje levere ho tilbake!
Bileta av fuglane på veggane er laga av skuleborn og skuleungdom frå Fedje under oppsyn av biletkunstnar Roger Gjerstad. Dei kan du og sjå på ferja. Du kan lese meir om Roger Gjerstad her:

Dei store tova bileta som heng inne i biblioteket er og laga av skuleborn og skuleungdom frå Fedje.
Ferjekaibiblioteket er Fedje sin Tusenårsstad. Ferja bind Fedje saman med resten av verda. Det er her på ferjekaia vi seier "ha det" og det er her vi ynskjer "velkomen heim"!
2.The FEDJE ferry quay library
The tiny library at the ferry quay is not a usual library. You can bring books, borrow books or simply take and keep the books you want to read.
A perfect spot to visit before a ferry trip, or even at the start of a relaxing stay at the island.
The international language selection is limited, but perhaps the one book that you feel like reading can be found here.
The pictures of the birds that you can see hanging on the walls were made by the schoolchildren of Fedje, under the supervision of artist Roger Gjerstad. They can also be seen hanging on the ferry.
The large felt pictures hanging inside the library were also made by the Fedje schoolchildren.
At the turn of the new millennium each county and municipality in Norway chose a Millennium Site, a structure or event special to that place. This library was chosen as the Millennium Site of Fedje. The ferry is what connects Fedje to the rest of the world. The ferry quay is where we say "goodbye", and it is where we say "welcome home"!
